First of all, another weirdness: I received your mail to me (the one I'm
replying to right now) as addressed *only* to me, and the copy I see in
gmane's archive is addressed *only* to the list. (Therefore, I had to
manually CC dev@ on this reply.)

I'm using gmane too most of the time. But even when I use gmane, when
I reply I *don't* use gmane's news-to-mail gateway, but rather I CC dev@
and bypass gmane. It worked for me (when the list moderation software
doesn't act up).

Even Outlook Express can show "mail" folders (not just "news" folders)
in threaded view.
