It has a library. Written in C. As a Python extension. And some Python
code wrapped around it. Would be a great way to start moveing most of
our implemntation to Python. :-P

Also IIRC fixing this everything-in-memory bug is on the Mercurial
roadmap ... which isn't saying much. :)
