I'm the author of the AppleDouble patch, but wasn't subscribed the dev
list. Let me chime in with a few responses...

The data is in a standardized and supported format, so it should be
forward compatible. It's also "optional", in that platforms which
don't recognize Mac resource forks won't be affected, nor will older
subversion releases.

Several of the stylistic issues mentioned (such as DARWIN instead of
SVN_HAVE_xxx) are side effects of trying to keep the patch as simple
as possible. Most of these can be resolved quickly.

Some mailing lists frown on posting diffs, but I'm happy to do in the
future so if that's preferred to .tgz. Should I post them against the
1.5.1 source release?

Per other responses, this header is verbatim from the RFC which notes
"Distribution is unlimited." Of course, we can write a clean interface
file if necessary.

I'll write up a patch against the 1.5.1 release with the recommended
changes shortly.
