I don't know anything more than what's in the thread you referenced.
However, it seemed to offer a solution, or at least a workaround. Did
you try that?

Also, did you really read http://subversion.tigris.org/bugs.html ? :-)
The bug report you reference above was just as terse as yours, and it
got the same response from me.

We don't have time to reproduce every bug report. We depend on our
users (the ones who have some programming experience) to trace bugs and
file complete technical reports. Many of our users also supply patches,
and some of them even become Subversion maintainers eventually.

You don't have to do any of that, of course. I'm just trying to explain
what the "team" here really is, and how you're a part of it the moment
you start a conversation about a bug. It's up to you how involved you
want to be; but if you really want a bug to get fixed, it would help to
be a little more involved than you currently are.
