Sorry, my original patch was definitely work in progress...

That's great, thanks Kamesh. Seems more and more folks are
encountering this issue. So even though it is exceedingly unlikely to
be fixed in 1.5.0 at least we can say it's in 1.5.1 when the
complaints start ;-\
