Hi al,

I've submitted my soc application, after some investigation in last few
days. I decided to apply for the "deselection interface for
sparse-directories" project. I hope I can do a good job under the guide of
you zealous developers.

For now, I plan to concentrate on getting the --depth interfaces to work for
deselection, complying the use cases in the notes/sparse-directories.txt,
and fill in some possibly missed corner cases if needed.
The first step should be clarifying current state of sparse-directories.
This includes investigating existing source codes and make extensive tests
on it. The second step should be gathering as many use cases (test cases) as
possible, defining behaviors in each situation. The third is to coding the
clarified behavior definition, testing and passing the test cases.

Having come up with this plan, I, however, have to delay further
investigation for a couple of days to deal with my paper to public. I'll
keep an eye on the mail list and consider your advices though. I hope my
application will pass the evaluation and be accepted when I come back. ^_^

Best wishes, everybody
G.R.
