Nope, there have been no changes to serf or ra_serf in the last weeks
that could have solved this. Actually, I don't expect this to be a serf
issue, almost all of the 'double free' errors were caused by ra_serf issues.

It's difficult to find out what went wrong without access and/or error
logs from the server. We might be able to reproduce this with a stress
test script that simulates commits with varying server behavior
(authentication, connection:close etc.).

Do we have such a stress test script?
