I think all of those features are definitely used regularly -- just
look at the mailing lists. If anything people are asking for more and
more of these things.

The problem is that since all of those features exist, we cannot just
say that merge tracking does not need to support them, and supporting
them takes time.

It is a good question to ask, but yes all of those features you
mentioned are used regularly by our users.
