I feel guilty whenever I hear "Kamesh and Karl" w.r.t. issue #2870,
because Kamesh has done all the real work! I've been busy with family
visits, etc, during this Thanksgiving week. But I get home tomorrow.

If there is new trunk development work being held up because of 1.5
stabilization, then I think it's okay for us to branch 1.5 even while
we're still working on #2870. The inconvenience of keeping the branch
up-to-date with trunk is a) not so great, and b) limited to Kamesh and
me, whereas minimizing trunk churn inconveniences N people.
