I don't see any reason why it couldn't be done, but it's going to need
someone to decide to do the backport work. A grep of the svn logs for
"0.27" gives the following list of revisions:
  * r26711, r26818, r26819, r26820, r27007, r27531, r27582
These did not merge cleanly. It's probably not a very challenging
backport, but it's not trivial either.
