Since this weekend all regression tests are passing over ra_serf. The
buildbot has been running a nightly build and test of ra_serf for some
months now, and in the meantime the number of failing tests dropped from
more than 80 to none.
Note that the buildbot is still sending FAIL mails for the ra_serf
build, but that's because one test is XPASSing (so basically ra_serf is
doing better than ra_neon ;) ).
This is not the first time ra_serf passes the test suite, so I hope that
this time, with the buildbot in place, we manage to keep it up to date.
Does that mean ra_serf development is finished for svn 1.5? No, not really.
First of all there are still 3 ra_serf specific issues logged in the
issue tracker, of which one is blocking:
http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/buglist.cgi?issue_type=DEFECT&component=subversion&issue_status=NEW&issue_status=STARTED&issue_status=REOPENED&email1=&emailtype1=exact&emailassigned_to1=1&email2=&emailtype2=exact&emailreporter2=1&issueidtype=include&issue_id=&changedin=&votes=&chfieldfrom=&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&short_desc=ra_serf&short_desc_type=substring&long_desc=&long_desc_type=substring&issue_file_loc=&issue_file_loc_type=substring&status_whiteboard=&status_whiteboard_type=substring&keywords=&keywords_type=anytokens&field0-0-0=noop&type0-0-0=noop&value0-0-0=&cmdtype=doit&order=Reuse+same+sort+as+last+time&Submit+query=Submit+query
Second, there are one or two discussions to finish on serf-dev to fix
the above issues, so hopefully we can do this in time to release serf
0.1.3 in the near future.
Third, the NTLM/SSPI authentication will not make it in time for svn
1.5. While the authentication framework is in place and NTLM is
implemented (for months already), it's difficult to match serf's
pipelining with an connection-based authentication mechanism as NTLM.
Even with the patches I still have sitting locally there are some tests
still failing over NTLM. Too bad. I probably will extract the changes
for the authentication framework from the ra_serf-auth branch and merge
those to trunk in the coming days.
