I was going to say it's to avoid causing that person to receive more
spam. But I always get the address from the mailing list header,
where it's visible in the clear, and those lists are archived all over
the place.

So in theory, there's no point. But I have gotten complaints from
people a couple of times, so I decided to obfuscate when in doubt,
just to avoid having to deal with further complaints.
