I did not mean to imply the plan should be "write script" first,
implement it in CLI next. I think this feature is just crying out to
be implemented in a script and we should wait and see if that even
happens. Just because David proposed such a thing does not mean he or
anyone will ever do it.

If someone develops one, and if the community galvanizes around a
single implementation and file format, then we could consider bringing
it more formally into the API. I am not sure this would not always
just be best as a script though. This sort of feature is bound to be
extremely bike-sheddy.

I also think we should not worry about adding the API now either.
Let's have someone come up with the script and demand first.
