I do the same thing when performance comparisons between neon and serf. It's not something designed to be committed, but it works for what I need.

The selection is made based on setting "prefer-ra-library" in ~/.subversion/servers

[global]
prefer-ra-library = dav

or

[global]
prefer-ra-library = serf
