feature request: append to last commit

Hi,

I'd like to propose a minor feature ..

I'd like to have a means to append an amendatory commit as a part of a
previous commit.

Reasoning: ideally a commit is a transition from one consistent
repository state to a new consistent repository state. If I happen to
perform an incomplete commit, I can fix it of course with a followup
commit. However, there is an inconsistent revision in the history.
Now, if I could _append_ my followup commit to the incomplete commit,
without creating a new revision, I could fix the history.

Of course this should be only allowed, if there was no interim commit
from another party in the meantime.

.. just an idea. Maybe you could think about it.

Regards,

Holger
