Hi Joachim. I'm not a Windows user, so I don't know much about this
"hidden" attribute or the overlay concept you mention. Do you think
you could provide a pointer to an explanation of exactly what this is?

Given what I understand from your email, though, I'm not sure that
this is a great idea. People use svn:ignore for many purposes; one of
the most important is to get Subversion to ignore automatically
generated files. Very often, these files are the most important files
in your checkout: for example, a compiled program! I don't
necessarily think people wanted to hide ignored files (or at least not
all of them).

But, since I don't really understand what the hidden attribute is, my
instinct above might be completely off.
