Any particular reason? Bear in mind that we have a virtual certainty of
having code using it before the next release.
Also, since we don't want SASL to be a hard requirement, it ought to be
perfectly OK for this code to be present - if it is working as intended,
then it will cause no problems, and if it is not, we get early warning,
and can fix the bugs.
