This sounds kind of familiar to me too.
I suspect it's something about Internet Explorer not being able to
handle 2 dots (2 extensions) correctly. I'm not sure but what is
described here happend to me some time ago, also on SVN. But i knew the
correct filename then and I just renamed it :P
Just to acknowledge the problem ;)
