I just wanted to point out that this feature is not specifically about
Subclipse, that just happens to be why I would like to see it. Jonathan
Gilbert wrote the initial patch which generated the conversations that
have led to where this is today. None of that had anything to do with
Subclipse. My only involvement was making a resource (Paul Burba)
available to revive the patch and see if it can be made to work. And yes,
I want it because it will let me fix some things in Subclipse that people
have asked for. But all Subclipse needs is the raw capability. It does
not matter to us whether it is a --force switch, or a new command, or two
new commands. We just need a way to do it. Paul is going in the
direction he is because that is what the committers indicated they wanted
back when this first came up.
