A list of paths involved in a change is meta-data about the change. In limited
circumstances (such as during a commit, or when changes affect disjoint sets of
paths) it is sufficient to identify the change. I'm not saying that such a
list isn't useful, just that we don't want to accidentally give the impression,
in describing this feature, that it represents our idea of "change management",
because it would fall short of what that implies.
