Mark suggested improving the Windows build. I heartily second that! If
people have to ask questions, it is not easy enough. If people get
frustrated and give up, the project loses potential contributors and
nobody wins.

In the same spirit, I'd suggest:

Move the Windows build to VS2005 Express Edition and then simplify
things by discontinuing support and instructions for MSVC 6.

Add a Win32 installer project so that this is built automatically.

Improve the documentation, from the installation instructions and
outdated architecture documents, to bringing the online book into line
with 1.3 features. Fresh eyes are incredibly valuable in finding what is
written that doesn't make sense or just plain wrong, then finding the
answers and fixing the docs.
