OK. I think the best thing I can do is to try to write part of a
user-interface specification that describes how 'svn' should behave with
respect to items scheduled for deletion.

This will probably take me a week or so, not because it will be long but
because it requires careful thought and I'm busy with other things.
Fortunately I don't think this is urgent.
