Feature Request: Subversion cache

Hi all,

Subversion is a great product! Nice job.

I do have a feature request: a Subversion "proxy" or cache. I'm working
with several remote groups with slow network connections, and regardless of
where we put our Subversion server, updates are going to be a pain.

Microsoft's internal source control system, Source Depot (similar to
Perforce), has a local "proxy" at remote locations. This keeps a cache of
all updates that are performed, so that if multiple users update to code,
the code is pulled from the local proxy, rather than from the remote Source
Depot server.

What do you think?

Regards,
John
