Re: [DESIGN] Aliases?

I feel you keep missing the point! Look on your server there are NO
directories "trunk/tags/branches"!

The '"directory" word and the phrase "cheap copies" may not have been
the best terms for the designers to use but those functions are only
managing hierarchical names in a database structure!! NO REAL
DIRECTORIES! The 'directory' terms were just a common metaphor that
makes a very powerful tagging system easy to understand. If any
thing I would suggest some interface scripts that change the phrasing
form 'copy' to 'tag' in your command line options. It will me more
confusion but will address you concern that SVN uses the word
'directory' to mean 'more powerful hierarchical tags'. If SVN
created all those 'directories' on my server would agree with your
arguments, but it does not!

Thanks! SVN developers I LOVE the "cheap copy" "directories"
metaphor as a way to got more powerful tags and other of the other
half dozen or so systems I have lived with!
