subversion and websites

am kind of a new user on subversion,i have used it several times but i do not seem to get thru i am to develop a subversion type to be used by developpers of a website with three sites ;development , info and test . All i know is to make it thru the console on linux but i do not get to know how people will checkout and work on documents on html format since there are some who do not know how to use linux.how do i go about it
