Pure PHP subversion client library

Hi!

I want to write subversion client library in pure PHP. The aim is to
make website update system. I need pure PHP because I can't rely on PECL
or SWIG or other modules, which is not included on cheap hostings.
I understand layout of working copy directories. But may be there some
features I must know about. Is there any documentation on it?
And may be there is some work on this (may be in some other languages
such as Python or Perl, I found just Java version, but it is also not
supported).
