In this one case, yes, that's true.

But what I think I'm getting at is an abstracted system for producing
portable hook scripts for use by repositories in our regression tests.
You just feed the generator some Python code; it takes care of setting
up the hook the right way for the platform you're on.

Do you see now the beauty that lies within us all?
