Thanks for summarizing the issues we discussed on #svn-dev!

I believe removing the SWIG generation would be as simple as commenting out
line 104 in autogen.sh. The build system is smart enough to still be able
to build SWIG at configure-time as well if --with-swig is passed.

As I said in the channel, my preference is to punt and disable SWIG 1.3.25
auto-building for rc1 and figure it out in time for the next rc. We'll
also need to fix up dist.sh to create the 'full'/'lite' combinations. --
