I started to do this, but then I realized it's probably pointless.

These email addresses already appear in the logs, which are
web-visible in many ways: through the direct mod_dav_svn repository
links, through ViewCVS, through cia.navi.cx, and through any other
forums in which people quote log messages. Also, the addresses are
exposed in the mailing list archives, for better or worse, and that's
where 99% of these patches come from anyway.

So we'd be adding code complexity for little or no extra protection.
I think it's not worth it.
