Subversion Project Information

From: Herrick, Mike <Mike.Herrick_at_LibertyNorthwest.com>

We are considering switching from CVS to Subversion.

As part of that process I need to gather some information on the
vitality of the project.

If anyone can add/correct to what I already have gathered from the
website/articles/google, I'd appreciate it -- it will help me to get
Subversion approved for use.

Leadership - How consistent has project leadership been?

Commercial Contribution - How many companies publicly contribute
intellectual property and staff to the project? What vendors?

User Adoption How broadly is the product used? By what type of
Apache Foundation, KDE (Linux Windowing System), Sun Microsystems, HP,
Barclays Global Investors
See testimonials http://subversion.tigris.org/testimonials.html

Vendor Adoption
How many vendors include the product in their commercial offerings?
CollabNet (founder works for them), employ 3 of the committers. Offer
integrated solution (CollabNet Enterprise Edition) products on top of
Subversion (i.e., integrate version control, bug tracking, mailing list,
file sharing)

Commercial Support
What companies offer what type of support for the product? At what cost?
