Bother. I missed two failures in trans_tests.py (too many windows open):

> FAIL: trans_tests.py 1: commit new files with keywords active from birth
> FAIL: trans_tests.py 10: propset, commit, check out into another wc

Works fine from within gdb, so it is likely to be something that wasn't
initialized properly. I'll start a new thread with a new patch as soon as I've
sussed out this error.
