Thank you. I will also go out on the limb and do this on work time
(since I need it for work I don't have too much problem with that). I
should be able to get all three additional patches done by tomorrow
(assuming that there wasn't too much additional code change in those areas).

You are correct. The three subsequent patches are just propagating the
new functionality to two libraries and the client code (plus tests). At
no time in the process should any existing tests fail.

Please commit part 1 as soon as you have a chance and I'll work on 2-4
this afternoon.
