If I choose to view hacking.html using style "None" rather than style
"Default" that also causes a fixed width font to be used for <pre>.

If I create a very simple HTML page then <pre> does use a fixed width
font. My simple HTML page has a very basic embedded style and it
doesn't stop the fxied width font being used.
