fat fs, win share and Linux client

I had some problems last week. I think I got it all sorted out, but I think there
may be something to investigate, or it may just be user error.

BoxA - Linux, firewall between public IP and LAN.
BoxB - Windows, fat, shared.

I forgot to check in some work I had done on BoxB Win box, so I sshed to BoxA,
mount -t smbfs //BoxA/share /mnt/foo,
cd mnt/foo/MyProject
svn commit

This seemed to case some problems. It was over a week ago, sorry I don't have
more deatails. It smelled like a case problem, but my server has a pre-commit
hook to block them, so I don't think that was it.

I know it didn't find my local config, cuz that would be in BoxA's /home/carl dir,
not BoxB/documentsAndSettings/carl/svn (or where ever it is stored on windows.) I
normaly don't use svn on BoxA, so that was pretty much user error - but it
shouldn't have caused any problems either.

When I get some time (week or 2) I am going to try to recreate this using some
test files. Any sugestions on things I should focus on?
