Not at all -- and believe me, if we *did* have such requests, you can
bet I'd be using them as ammunition in the discussion! :-).

I agree.

I favor an inherited properties solution. I would much prefer it.
However, I just want to be sure we know how to *do* it. If I seem to
favor the hook solution, that's only because it contains no mysteries
anymore.
