We reserve the announce@ list for announcements related to Subversion
itself -- mostly new releases, as you might guess.
There are now too many other Subversion-related offerings out there
for us to broadcast their news on our announce@ list. We are
committed to announce@subversion.tigris.org being the lowest-traffic
list in our project. Not coincidentally, it also has the highest
subscribership. We assume that people subscribed mainly so they could
keep tabs on the Subversion project itself, and that they would prefer
us to be conservative about what we post on that list.
I hope this helps clarify things.
By the way, when I bounced your last announce@ attempt back to you, I
put a note in the message-from-moderator section, explaining all this
(though more briefly). Did you ever get it? I just want to make sure
that communications mechanism is working.
Thanks,
-Karl
