Forgive my ignorance but I just tried this and it did not work. I am not
an Emacs guru though - do I need to change some variable before this
will really work?

For reference: I got the error message "VC asked Subversion to check out
a read-only copy of file"...

Looking forward to using ediff with subversion :)
