Yup. I think everyone now agrees that more careful release procedures
are needed. We'll probably adopt something like the system Apache
httpd uses, where people test the actual release tarball, and some
minimum number of developers GPG-sign it, before the release is
announced. Ben Reser and Justin have mentioned some of these things
on this list already; we'll codify the procedures soon (meaning: I'll
write it up in HACKING unless Ben or someone beats me to it :-) ).
