The client is using 74 MB when checking out the repository, while a "svn up"
uses 105MB on the client side. The svnserve side is fine with the new patches
and apr-1.0.1 during import and those other operations I tried.

A "svn switch --relocate" from file:// to svn:// used 170MB on the client
side, though.
