Anyone need svnS://?

Are there any plans for a simple encrypted svn protocol? I'm not
speaking svn+ssh, sort of an https:: is to http:: as svns:: is to svn::?
Something akin to running stunnel on either end... I'd dearly love for
this, I think svn+ssh sort of removes some of the flexibility in the svn
protocol as far as authentication goes... would there be any interest in
a patch if I provided one? What I'm looking for is a way to use the
authentication in svnserve.conf/[general] but still have network traffic
encrypted.... from what I understand now is any sort of tunneling makes
authentication the burden of the tunnel agent, yes? Forgive me if I'm
off base here....
