Brane, I know meta-discussion isn't really what we're here for, but do
try to see things from Greg's point of view.
He's not denying that you're working on an ACL design, he's saying
that *from the point of view of the list*, it doesn't exist yet.
While you certainly get credit for working on something important in
your all-too-scarce free time, you don't get to actually use that work
in debates until we can all examine it. Greg's responses may be
blunt, but hey, you're the one who started it, by claiming we should
do things a certain way for ACLs, which we don't have a design nor
even a feature spec for.
It's fair to call anything having to do with ACLs a "random stab"
right now. Any not-yet-peer-reviewed spec is going to be a random
stab. That wouldn't ordinarily be a controversial statement; you're
only taking exception to it because you've been thinking about the
problem privately :-).
