What, you mean the way I write when I think my audience is not a bunch
of flabby-minded chuckleheads needing to be coddled and ego-stroked at
every turn?

If I didn't have high expectations from this software and these
people, *then* I'd be elaborately 'nice' in the face of screwups. And
that (though you might never realize it) would be an insult.

When I start treating you the way I treat typical corporate executives,
you'd better worry that you've lost my respect.

(And that goes for you too, Ben Reser.)
