The current behavior, vis-a-vis hardlinks, is the best (and possibly only) way
to safely handle multiuser access to resource (copy, unlink, rename). If the
backend filesystem cannot efficiently handle that, then the backend filesystem
is not an appropriate choice for use in this manner.
