winzip and tar.gz files unpacking into 2 directories instead of 1??

subversion
          \
           bindings
                   \
                    java

subversion-1.x.x
                \
                 everything else

Is this a winzip bug caused by some weird way your packing them??
Winrar works fine, its just winzip doing this.

I apologize if this has been mentioned before but a quick search of the
recent archive didn't come up with anything.
