Definitely goes into "developer-visible changes" category. Users will
never know about it. I mean, rumors are that updates are a wee bit
faster now, but it's not clear that it's noticible. And we still
haven't reached the point of "run a BDB repository off a CDROM." The
code is cleaner, though.
