This makes sense. A raw, unrepositoried fs object is pretty useless;
I'm not sure why we made them available at all. (Of course, now we'd
have to do the Delicate Deprecation Dance.)

Independently of that, I think it's fine to get rid of the tests Greg
was talking about.
