sorry for confusion, the error is:

$ svn cleanup
svn: In directory 'proj/myproj/abc/src'
svn: Error processing command 'delete-entry' in 'proj/myproj/abc/src'
svn: Can't remove 'proj/myproj/abc/src/ui3/mail/.svn': Access is denied.

but it does not say any details:
the permissions, denied by whom, ...

It should already be telling you 'the real' reason. What does the error
message say exactly ('Access denied' or 'Permission denied')? Is the
working copy on an NFS drive or anything?
