Which is what I thought we agreed to do 2 weeks ago. Punt on worrying
about the server generated messages. Do the client generated messages.
Deal with the server stuff in the future, if we're doing it in the
client, sometime along the lines of 2.0.0.

If there's any concerns right now it's how to make sure we turn of i18n
for mod_dav_svn and svnserve... But from previous emails it's possible
and apparently not difficult.

Is this even worthy of a response?

You apparently didn't read my last email on this. RPMs ship with all
locales. As far as I know no RPM distro installs them all by default
anymore. There is a macro you can set in /etc/rpm/macros to say what
locales you want. But it's generally set to just the locale(s) the user
asked for at install. Server admins are simply not going to be bothered
to deal with this. Apache has translated error messages and hardly
anyone goes to the effort to make them work.

As the package maintainer for Mandrake, I can assure you. Users
generally have no clue about this and don't want to know (and when I say
users I mean client and server users.).

Repeat after me. Package management systems include all translations
and only install the ones that are requested by the user at the OS
install. This is a good thing. As a server admin I don't want 9 MB of
wasted space for 200 languages worth of translations of which I might
ever need a couple.
