build in pre-commit

Hi,
 
how can I get a working copy of the repository, as it will look like after the
tx inside a pre-commit hook? .. something like:
 
  svn update -r tag -tx tx-name
 
then I could do a testwise build / make / rnu unit-tests / whatever in order
to ensure the consistency of the repository before commit.
