apr, apr-util: .a or .lib?

Hi!

I know this is a newbie question, but what the heck:
As I already wrote, I am trying to get SVN to run under OS/2...
I have a binary package of apache2 installed, including the apr und
apr-util libs.
I only have the lib files, no .la and no .a files. When I run the SVN
configure
script, the config script tries to add ».a« or ».la« to the lib files
and hence doesn't
find them...

What do I have to do so that I can compile against the lib files?
